Prayer Into Action
The animals eat poisoned fish
So that you can have paper napkins and newspapers
Newspapers ... whose work is to distort the truth
So that this artificial world can keep going
Humans are animals too
So we eat the same poisoned fish
As the rest of the creatures do
And so we pray for our living bodies
But many churches divide people against one another
All these different religions fighting for our souls
While caring nothing for our living bodies
Well, that's not exactly true
Some people do minister to our bodies
When they feed us warm meals
They compensate for the failings
Of the corporate-military cabal
That has come to be known as empire
As our living bodies eat the fish
Please do not preach to us
Don't you dare tell us about Christ
Crucified on the cross
Daily, we watch the living Christs crucified
Crucified by the judges
Crucified by the written laws
Crucified by the police
And we watch the living Christs
Crucified by the churches
On the money in the United States
They have written "In God We Trust"
The God in which they trust
Goes by the names Avarice, Greed, and Hatred
Their God is an insatiable desire for wealth and power
We are on a journey
And we pray to restore our humanity
We will take our place in the sun
In this final hour of these last days
We want to unite the Family of Man
We want to restore our dignity
We want to restore dignity to our elder races
It's five minutes to midnight!
Like the naughty cosmic child of the animal kingdom
The white race has wreaked havoc upon the earth
And now our brothers and sisters have fallen with us
All over the globe, humans are abusing one another
We have disgraced the Family of Man
Those of us with shame
Do everything in our power to understand
We must galvanize our prayers into action
Even if the only action possible is to pray
In every gods name
We better pray for our race
We turn to the elder races for guidance
We turn to the elder species for guidance
We turn to the Living Earth
Not that hateful lord, master, or judge ...
That God is an artificial construct
Held in place by police, guns, and prisons
And now tanks and bombs as well
No, that's no god to me!
I turn to the Living Earth
All around me and within me
Prayer is action
Our lives, how we live each moment
This is our prayer
We don't need words or holy books for this
We live our prayers
So that you can have paper napkins and newspapers
Newspapers ... whose work is to distort the truth
So that this artificial world can keep going
Humans are animals too
So we eat the same poisoned fish
As the rest of the creatures do
And so we pray for our living bodies
