slaves for rent
you will get docked an hour's pay
if you break to use the toilet
so piss on the crops, piss on the crops!
piss on the lettuce, pull all the stops!
you better just piss on the crops ...
and god damn it
save the braceros, save the arm-men
save the prisoners of war ...
save the ... prisoners
during world war 2,
prisoners of war, along with the convicts,
were turned over ...
turned over to the industrial farmers
japanese-americans impounded in concentration camps
in the bad new world of u s a
were released to the custody
of the industrial farmers
armed guards patrolled the fields
so piss on the crops, pull all the stops,
piss all over these earth fucking crops!
god damn it
when world war 2 was over,
prisoners of war went back to italy,
back to germany, back to japan
and convicts went back to their cells
the braceros remained
no longer called mexican farm laborers
they had a new name ...
darn swell folks in texas
called 'em "wetbacks"
good old texas used to be mexico
the word immigrant is an ironic joke
so, what was the status of the braceros?
after world war 2, when the prisoners went away,
what was the legal position of the
wetbacks?
the u s a demands cheap labor
the u s a demands cheap labor
empire demands cheap labor
what is the legal status of cheap labor?
you will get docked an hour's pay
if you break to use the toilet
so piss on the crops, piss on the crops!
piss on the lettuce, pull all the stops!
you better just piss on the crops ...
and god damn it
save the braceros, save the arm-men
save the prisoners of war ...
save the ... prisoners
to starve the plantation is our destiny
if you break to use the toilet
so piss on the crops, piss on the crops!
piss on the lettuce, pull all the stops!
you better just piss on the crops ...
and god damn it
save the braceros, save the arm-men
